Mado Bakery and Cafe: A Haven for Delicious French Pastries and Exquisite Coffee

My husband and I are always on the hunt for a local bakery while traveling. He stumbled upon this gem on our trip to Rock Hill. The pastries taste as good as they look. They are absolutely beautiful and the perfect touch of sweetness. Oh and the chocolate flavored coffee, HELLO! Yummm We got a wide variety of items and they were all good. I’ve never been to France, but this place made me want to go. LOL The staff is super nice. The pastry chef is super nice. The atmosphere is cozy (and pretty neat because the old bank vault door is still intact.

Hands down the best croissants, pastries, and baguettes—one bite and you’re transported straight to France. Mado has been our favorite breakfast date ever since we found it a few months ago. The family-run bakery offers genuinely warm service, always with a smile. An absolute must-try.. so worth the drive.

We discovered this lovely bakery when planning a trip to NC from Florida, and are so glad we did! I called a few days before leaving and placed an order for them to hold for me since we wouldn’t be there until the afternoon. They were beyond happy to hold these items for us! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was beyond wonderful!! We met the owner, and he is so kind. We will be back if in the area!

My husband and I wanted to try this place for months and we finally were able to. The staff greets everyone, there’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners are very kind and friendly. I tried my very first canelé and it was everything I imagined and more! The croissants are absolutely amazing, buttery and flakey goodness. It was just perfect with the cappuccino I got. We obviously had to get some goodies to take home. When we come back to visit family in CLT again, we will definitely be taking that 45min drive to come to this amazing bakery.

Mado Paris Bakery on Cherry Road in Rock Hill is so amazing! If you haven’t been there. Need to check it out. Chef Serge is the real thing. So is his megawatt smile and sunny disposition. He makes all of his pastries & delicacies with an absolute love and pride, and it’s evident in the results, but also the way he speaks about them. The butter, flour, chocolate, and more is imported from France. It is shipped over to New Jersey and then flown on a refrigeration cargo plane to Charlotte. If you know your pastries, then you know that the butter absolutely matters and he uses the best as he’s holding up in one of the pictures here. If you really want a real treat, date location, gift idea, or just some self-care, this is your place.

A hidden gem in Rock Hill. If you’re a true coffee enthusiast like me, you’ll appreciate how good their coffee is — honestly, it tastes even better than what I usually get at Starbucks. Whenever I’m driving around town, I’ll gladly skip my usual Starbucks run and choose Mado instead. My go-to treat is their salted caramel cream puff — always fresh, not too sweet, and absolutely worth the stop. If you enjoy pastries, and cozy café finds, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Mado French Bakery is simply amazing! Every single sweet is absolutely delicious—every bite is full of incredible flavor, and you can truly taste the love and care that goes into everything they make. I honestly love every bite. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and wonderful, and it makes the experience even more special. Knowing that it’s a family-owned bakery makes it even better—you can feel how genuine, open, and kind everyone is. They make you feel so welcome from the moment you walk in. Hands down, this is the best bakery in both North and South Carolina, and it is 100% worth the drive. Love, love, LOVE this place!

This is a really cute place! The customer service was great, and all of the associates were friendly and helpful. I had an almond croissant that was delicious, and a chai latte that I really enjoyed.
